Taego Buddhist Zen Center was formed to disseminate and propagate the Dharma, the teachings of Shakymuni Buddha, as recorded in the ancient scriptures, as interpreted and transmitted by the Ancestors, and as experienced personally. Zen Buddhism, with its emphasis on meditation, is a way of cultivating compassion and wisdom through radical acceptance of what is. Meditation becomes an awareness and mindfulness of all that is, moment-to-moment and an appreciation of life in all its manifestations.
Taego Zen Center offers weekly services and meditation sittings as well as private one on one instruction. Here you will learn and experience Zen mediation; chanting and Buddhist theory. You will have a direct relationship with your teacher, just has it has been done for centuries. Taego Zen Center is a place of self reflection, hard work, dedication and self realization.
Taego Zen Center headed by Hae Jin Sunim is the American branch of services offered at Borisa Buddhist Temple.
The Temple property was purchased in 2014, which has a home and adjanct building located on the property. The lower floor of the home functions as the Temple while the upstairs is the monastic living quarters. There are plans to start build a traditional Korean Buddhist Temple in Fall of 2016.
